Germinale 2025: "Alimurgia"

The second edition of Germinale – Monferrato Art Fest was held from September 12 to October 12, 2025, among the hills of the Lower Monferrato. The title, "Alimurgia. Nutrire lo sguardo e coltivare il pensiero", referenced the 18th-century term coined by naturalist Giovanni Targioni Tozzetti, which refers to the use of wild plants as a food resource during difficult times.

The exhibition was articulated across 27 exhibition venues distributed over 22 municipalities of the Lower Monferrato, involving about 50 artists. The organizational heart of the event was the historic La Mercantile residence in Castagnole Monferrato, in the Province of Asti.

Among the special projects was "I'm in love with my car," a tribute to Massimo Cotto, with artist Solomostry (Edoardo Maestrelli) transforming the journalist's classic car into a traveling work of art.
