Edition 2025 — Genazzano Carnival
Genazzano Carnival 2025
Ten days of celebration, from February 23 to March 4, 2025, with the historic center of Genazzano entirely pedestrianized and animated by residents and visitors.
The opening Sunday, February 23, saw the parade of allegorical floats and masked groups travel through the streets of the village, with masks created by local associations on themes of current events and tradition. In the following days, creative workshops, open-air theatrical and musical performances, and tastings of traditional Carnival sweets, from frappe to castagnole, took place.
On Saturday, March 1, the Castello Colonna hosted the masked dance party, with prizes for the most original and creative costumes. Sunday, March 2, was dedicated to traditional games, jugglers, and comedy shows in the squares. The grand finale on Tuesday, March 4, was the Burning of the Carnival King, a ritual that symbolically marks the transition to Lent, followed by a fireworks display over the town.
All events were free to attend.
