Gela Carnival

The 2025 Gela Carnival took place from February 27 to March 4, marking the return of a more heartfelt and participatory festival after years of celebrations primarily left to schools. The initiative, promoted by Pro Loco Gela with the Municipality of Gela and local schools, was born from the desire to give the festival back to the children.

The main day, Thursday, February 27, saw a gathering at 9:30 AM and a parade along the main street to Piazza Umberto. On Sunday, March 2, the festival continued at Villetta Auriga, while on March 3 and 4, the Villa Comunale hosted a masquerade party dedicated to schools on the theme "Gela Flowered City." There was no shortage of music stations, face painting, games, and the delicious distribution of fritters, with the central theme of Sicilian identity in the colors and flavors of the festival.
