Edition 2025 — Galatone Living Nativity

The 2025-2026 edition of the Galatone Living Nativity, titled 'Along the Shepherds' Way – The Holy Night of Galatone,' took place at the Masseria 'ti li Tre Petre,' along the SP Galatone–Santa Maria al Bagno road. Performances were held on December 25 and 26, 2025, and January 1 and 6, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, under the patronage of the Puglia Region, the Province of Lecce, and the Municipality of Galatone. Amidst ancient crafts, pettole, and freshly baked bread, the event gained unexpected national notoriety.

Along the Shepherds' Way – The Holy Night of Galatone

The 2025-2026 edition of the Galatone Living Nativity took place at the Masseria "ti li Tre Petre", along the provincial road Galatone–Santa Maria al Bagno, with four evening openings: December 25 and 26, 2025, and January 1 and 6, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The setup, curated by the parish groups of the SS. Cosma e Damiano Martiri Church, offered an immersive journey through ancient Salento crafts, peasant dwellings, and warm pettole served to visitors.

However, this edition made national headlines due to an unusual incident: a fugitive was hiding among the "puppets" and performers of the nativity scene and was recognized by Mayor Flavio Filoni during his visit to the performance. The story, covered by media across Italy, brought curious and unexpected visibility to the Galatone nativity tradition, without detracting from the spiritual and cultural value of the event, which is deeply rooted in the community of the municipality of Galatone, in the province of Lecce.
