Fronleichnam Procession (Corpus Christi Procession)

In 2025, the community of Castelrotto/Kastelruth renewed the tradition of the Corpus Christi procession. The celebration began with Holy Mass in the parish church, followed by the procession through the streets of the historic center. The Blessed Sacrament, held in the monstrance, was carried under the canopy through the village, accompanied by statues of saints, banners, the brass band (Musikkapelle), the Schützen, and numerous faithful in traditional Tyrolean costumes. The procession confirmed the strong bond between faith and cultural identity that has characterized the villages of the Sciliar-Alpe di Siusi area in the Bolzano province for centuries.
