Fricennu Mangiannu 2025: the nineteenth edition

The nineteenth edition of Fricennu Mangiannu took place on Saturday, August 16, 2025, starting at 9 PM, in the historic center of Avetrana, in Piazza Vittorio Veneto. The event, described by the organizers as "an exhibition of scents, flavors, colors, sounds, and traditions of Salento," confirmed its role as the highlight of the Avetrana summer, closing the week of the Giostra dei Rioni.

The food stalls featured fried fish, fava bean purée with friggitelli, legumes, meatballs, battered vegetables, pettole, and grilled sausage sandwiches, all accompanied by local wine. For the musical portion, the square enjoyed a night of pizzica and Salento folk music, with performances by the groups "Provvisorio Popolari" and "Alla Bua".
