Edition 2025 — FrantOlio

The 19th edition of FrantOlio took place on Sunday, March 30, 2025, in Raiano (AQ), at the municipal council chamber on Via Tratturo, starting at 4:30 PM. 67 samples of extra virgin olive oil from the Peligna Valley were in competition, mostly from the native Rustica and Gentile cultivars. A day dedicated to awarding the best Peligna oils and debating the PGI recognition for Abruzzo oil.

The 19th edition of FrantOlio took place on Sunday, March 30, 2025, in Raiano (AQ), in the municipal council chamber on Via Tratturo. Olive growers from the Peligna Valley presented 67 samples of extra virgin olive oil, nearly the same number as the previous year, mainly from the Rustica and Gentile cultivars.

The event, coordinated by the Rustica e Gentile Association chaired by Franco Volpe, featured greetings from the Mayor of Raiano, Marco Moca, speeches by local and regional authorities, and a report by agronomist Pietro Di Paolo on the path toward PGI recognition for Abruzzo oil. Five winners and five special mentions were announced, with a concluding speech by the Regional Councilor for Agriculture, Emanuele Imprudente.
