Edition 2025 — Franciscan Living Nativity
The debut of the Franciscan Living Nativity
The winter of 2024-2025 marked the first edition of the Franciscan Living Nativity in the garden of the Santa Caterina Convent in Grumo Nevano. Born from the parish community after weeks of preparation, the event was presented as a spectacle never before organized in the city.
Performances took place on December 28 and 29, 2024, and January 6, 2025, starting at 6:00 PM with free admission. Along a set path, visitors walked through Nativity scenes animated by ancient trades — the blacksmith, the chestnut roaster, the cheesemaker, the greengrocer, the fishmonger, and the bakery — and were able to taste traditional products at the end of the route. On Epiphany, the procession of the Three Wise Men on horseback, which departed from Piazza Cirillo, reached the convent garden, closing the first edition of the event to applause.
