Three days of flowers, history, and tastings in the Ancient Village of Bornato
Franciacorta in Bloom is one of the most anticipated spring events in the Province of Brescia. The festival takes place in the Ancient Village of Bornato, part of Cazzago San Martino, and transforms this corner of Franciacorta into a widespread garden for an entire weekend, with exhibitors of plants, flowers, and horticultural products scattered among historic courtyards, farmhouses, and period palaces.
The heart of the event is Bornato Castle, a rare and fascinating Renaissance villa built within a medieval castle. The exhibition route winds through the entire village, touching charming locations like Palazzo Ambrosini, Cascina Orlando, and the ancient Pieve di San Bartolomeo. Strolling through these spaces, festively decorated with floral arrangements, is an experience that combines botany, architecture, and history.
Among the most characteristic events is the return of the Palio della Rosa di Franciacorta, with a medieval market of arts and crafts set up in the castle moat: archers, ancient artisans, and live demonstrations take visitors back in time. There are also workshops dedicated to bees, floral crochet, botanical fragrances, and children, as well as themed tastings of honey, citrus fruits, roses, and extra virgin olive oils.
Being in the heart of the Franciacorta region, the event dedicates ample space to tastings of the area's famous sparkling wines, the true oenological ambassadors of the region. Between a flowerbed and a historic palace, the opportunity for a glass of Franciacorta is an integral part of the experience.
Now in its twenty-seventh edition, Franciacorta in Bloom attracts thousands of visitors each year, drawn by the combination of flowers, culture, and flavors in one of Lombardy's most renowned areas. An event that enhances the Franciacorta territory far beyond its wine fame.
The 2026 edition, the XXVII, takes place from May 15 to 17 in the Ancient Village of Bornato. The exhibition route transforms the village into a widespread garden, with "Widespread Gardens" set up among the historic residences, the food truck area in Piazza Don Piero Verzeletti, and numerous cultural and creative offerings. Among the special guests are collaborations with local artistic realities and with PINAC, the International Art Gallery of the Evolutionary Age, to engage the creativity of the youngest.
Around 11,000 visitors are expected over the three days, confirming Franciacorta in Bloom among the most followed horticultural events in Lombardy.
