A festival that fosters dialogue between design and contemporary culture

FormeFuture is the multidisciplinary exhibition with which the Fondazione Design Terrae transforms the Politeama Franco Moschini in Tolentino, in the province of Macerata, into a laboratory of ideas open to the city. Not just a simple calendar of events, but a scenic path that brings together the world of design, history, art, and the most experimental forms of contemporary culture. The festival is born from the work that the Foundation has been carrying out in the Marche region for years: restoring centrality to a territory marked by the 2016 earthquake by making it a reference point for Italian design.

The Politeama, home of Marche design

The venue is no coincidence. The Politeama Franco Moschini, at Corso Garibaldi 80, is a former cinema-theatre from the 1920s reborn as a multifunctional cultural center and is one of the first projects of the Fondazione Design Terrae. Named after the Tolentino entrepreneur who lent his name to Poltrona Frau, it is today a space where design, business, and creativity meet. Here, FormeFuture stages a program that alternates encounters with major protagonists of design with performing arts and current sound research.

Encounters, performances, and sound research

The heart of FormeFuture lies in the variety of its languages. It ranges from dialogues with masters of contemporary design to dance and theatre performances, from film screenings to listening sessions that make music an acoustic and visual experience. It is an opportunity to introduce the general public, enthusiasts, and young people to the world of design and contemporary culture, in a format that favors direct interaction and a participatory dimension.

• Encounters with designers — the "Meet the Guru" series brings internationally renowned art directors and designers to the stage in dialogue with entrepreneurs from the district.
• Performing arts — contemporary dance, theatre, and live music transform the auditorium into an immersive space.
• Cinema and visual research — screenings and previews of urban and experimental projects.
• Listening sessions — collective listening and live performances involving sound, image, and light installations.

A project for the territory

FormeFuture is organized by the Fondazione Design Terrae in collaboration with the Fondazione Franco Moschini, with the contribution of the Marche Region and the patronage of the Municipality of Tolentino. All events are free admission, with limited seating: a choice that reaffirms the festival's vocation to be a common good and to return a space for culture and discussion to the Marche community.
