About FORM Symphony Season

Every year, between January and May, the Feronia Municipal Theatre in San Severino Marche hosts the Symphony Season of the FORM - Filarmonica Marchigiana Orchestra. Six events ranging from Viennese classicism to film music, with internationally renowned conductors and soloists. A path of excellence that brings great masterpieces and premieres to the heart of the province of Macerata, with special attention to the contribution of women in music.

The FORM Symphony Season in San Severino Marche

In the elegant setting of San Severino Marche, the historic Feronia Municipal Theatre overlooking Piazza del Popolo, one of the most anticipated events in the cultural life of the Macerata area takes place: the Symphony Season of the FORM - Filarmonica Marchigiana Orchestra. Between January and May, the public can enjoy a program of six concerts that intertwines the great classics of the repertoire, less frequently performed pieces, and excursions into film music, always with the care and quality that have made FORM one of the most solid orchestral realities in central Italy.

A Program Featuring Vienna, Women, and Cinema

The artistic proposal is designed to guide both experienced listeners and new audiences on a musical journey rich in contrasts. It begins with the traditional New Year's Concert, featuring waltzes, dances, and famous opera excerpts, then moves through the worlds of Bach and Beethoven, a program entirely dedicated to the role of women in music, and Mozartian and Weberian atmospheres, concluding with the ever-popular Peter and the Wolf by Prokofiev, and a spectacular tribute to the soundtracks of great cinema.

Leading the orchestra and performing for the audience are top names on the international scene: from guest conductors to soloists who have won prestigious competitions, to figures like Albrecht Mayer, principal oboist of the Berlin Philharmonic. The artistic direction also reserves space for premieres and new compositions, confirming FORM's commitment to combining tradition and contemporaneity.

The Feronia Theatre, a Marche Gem

The Feronia Theatre is one of the most evocative historic Italian-style theatres in the Marche region, with its box-seat hall and warm acoustics that enhance the orchestra's sound. Hosting the symphony season here means offering San Severino Marche and the entire Monti Azzurri area an event of the highest caliber, without needing to travel to major cities.

A Regional Cultural Network

The Symphony Season at the Feronia is part of FORM's broader project, which brings its concerts to numerous cities in the Marche region, from Ancona to Fermo, from Fabriano to Osimo. San Severino Marche, in the heart of the province of Macerata, is one of the most beloved venues in the calendar, thanks in part to the deep connection between the city and classical music. For visitors to the Marche, attending a concert at the Feronia is an authentic way to discover the cultural identity of this territory.
