About FORM Symphonic Tolentino

Great symphonic music arrives every year at the Nicola Vaccaj Theatre in Tolentino, in the heart of the province of Macerata. Three events with the FORM โ€“ Marche Philharmonic Orchestra and internationally renowned soloists accompany the theatre's season between December and April, from the traditional Christmas Concert to the family concert, up to the grand piano finale. A precious opportunity to hear Mozart, Mendelssohn, Beethoven, and Prokofiev live in one of the most beloved historic halls in the Marche region.

Symphony in the heart of Tolentino

Every year, the Nicola Vaccaj Theatre in Tolentino, in the province of Macerata, opens its doors to great symphonic music with concerts by the FORM โ€“ Marche Philharmonic Orchestra. Part of the theatre season promoted by the Municipality of Tolentino and AMAT (Marche Association of Theatrical Activities), these events are among the most anticipated moments of the autumn and winter musical season in the Marche, capable of bringing international-level performers and programs to a provincial town.

Three events between December and April

The common thread of the review is the collaboration with FORM, the reference orchestra for the Marche Region, joined each time by prestigious soloists and conductors. The symphonic program is usually divided into three evenings spread between December and April:

  • the Christmas Concert, a traditional event that inaugurates the holiday season;
  • a family concert, designed to introduce children and families to the language of the orchestra through musical fairy tales and narration;
  • the closing concert, often dedicated to the great piano repertoire, which concludes the symphonic programming.

A historic theatre, a living tradition

The Vaccaj Theatre, named after the Tolentino composer Nicola Vaccaj, is one of the most evocative historic halls in the Marche. Reopened to the public in the 1980s after extensive restoration, it boasts refined acoustics that enhance the sound of the live orchestra. The symphonic season intertwines with the drama and dance seasons, making the Vaccaj a cultural reference point for Tolentino and the entire Macerata area.

Affordable tickets and community engagement

One of the distinctive features of the review is the choice to keep symphonic concert tickets affordable, with reasonable prices and a single ticket price for some events, to encourage participation from a wide audience of all ages. This formula reflects the popular and educational approach with which the Municipality of Tolentino and AMAT present classical music in the Marche.
