Folkest, the festival born from the rubble of the Orcolat

Folkest is one of the most important folk and world music festivals in Southern Europe: born in 1979 as a cultural response to the 1976 Friuli earthquake (the Orcolat), it has been bringing artists from all over the world to the region's villages for decades. The festival, defined as "the curious festival of the world", crosses dozens of locations in Friuli Venezia Giulia and neighboring territories every summer, intertwining Friulian popular tradition and international sounds.

The stop in San Rocco di Forgaria nel Friuli

Among the locations involved in the program is Forgaria nel Friuli, a municipality in the Province of Udine overlooking Lake Cornino and the nature reserve, making it one of the most evocative places in the foothills. The concert is held in the locality of San Rocco, in an intimate and collected atmosphere that has always characterized the "distributed" stops of Folkest, designed to enhance the small centers affected by the earthquake and now symbols of Friulian rebirth.
