Fóchi de San Giuanni

The 2025 edition

In 2025, the Fóchi de San Giuanni confirmed their role as the opening event of the Paliano Summer, the summer festival of the Municipality of Paliano, in the province of Frosinone. As per tradition, the event took place near the solstice, during an evening in late June built around the lighting of bonfires in the center of the town.

The ritual was repeated in its customary forms: the fire lit at dusk, the water left outdoors to collect the dew, and the wildflowers exchanged to seal the bond of the compari de San Giuanni. Around the flames, folk songs, accordions, and tambourines followed one another, with the HerniCantus association coordinating the evening and hosting other traditional oral music groups from southern Lazio.

The 2025 edition opened a summer calendar that continued with the Astronomy Festival, the Carosello Festival of street artists, the Latium World Folkloric Festival, the Giostra del Turco, and the Ferragosto Fire Night.
