Edition 2025 — Fòcara of Squinzano

In 2025, the feast of Saint Anthony the Abbot in Squinzano, promoted by the San Nicola di Myra and Mater Domini parish, was organized around the triduum of January 23-25 in the Mother Church and the main event on Sunday, January 26. At noon, the blessing of the animals on the church square; in the evening, the theatrical and pyromusical lighting of the fòcara in Piazza San Nicola, with tastings of local products and Salento music.

Fòcara of Squinzano 2025

The 2025 edition of the Fòcara of Saint Anthony the Abbot saw the Squinzano community gather in Piazza San Nicola. After the triduum celebrated from January 23 to 25 in the Mother Church, the festival reached its peak on Sunday, January 26, 2025: at noon, the blessing of all animals on the church square; in the evening—after the 6:00 PM Eucharistic celebration—the theatrical and pyromusical lighting of the fòcara, featuring a dramatization dedicated to the life and temptations of the saint. Around the fire, there was no shortage of tastings of local products and the notes of Salento folk music, in an evening of strong community participation.
