Fòcara Cesarina of Saint Anthony the Abbot

The 2025 edition of the Fòcara Cesarina of Saint Anthony the Abbot, the 88th in the tradition, took place in Porto Cesareo on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Scalo d'Alaggio, with the usual theme "Fire, Sea, and Roots." Organized by the Municipality of Porto Cesareo and the Saint Anthony Festival Committee with the contribution of Ezio Calcagnile, the day combined religious rites — Mass in the parish at 11:00 AM, the blessing of the animals and the bonfire at noon, and Mass at the bonfire site at 5:00 PM — with popular festivities. After the brass band concert through the town streets and the flight of the hot air balloons, the great bonfire was lit at 6:15 PM amidst a fireworks display. The evening continued with a warm-up by Dj Vivaz and concerts by Mascarimirì and a DJ set by Cesko.

• 12:00 PM — Opening of artisanal markets and local specialties fair; blessing of the animals and the bonfire

• 5:30 PM — Hot air balloon flight
• 6:15 PM — Lighting of the bonfire with fireworks
