About Flowers and Colors
A city in bloom
In Abbiategrasso, in the Metropolitan City of Milan, Flowers and Colors is the civic initiative that calls on citizens and traders to take care of greenery and embellish their spaces. It is a competition that rewards flowery balconies, gardens, shop windows, and outdoor areas, with the aim of making the city more beautiful and welcoming through a passion for flowers.
Four awards, a more beautiful city
The competition includes four categories and as many awards:
- Best flowery balcony
- Best garden
- Best shop window
- Best outdoor area
Registration is open to anyone who wishes to participate: private citizens, shopkeepers, and commercial businesses can enter their spaces, contributing to coloring the streets of the center.
An initiative that builds community
Flowers and Colors is not just a competition: it is a way to involve the community in the care of public and shared spaces. Included in the summer program 'Restate in città', the initiative combines urban decorum with participation, transforming the love for flowers into a collective gesture for the benefit of all of Abbiategrasso.

The 2026 edition of Flowers and Colors, the second, renews the competition for the city's flowery spaces. Citizens and traders can enter balconies, gardens, shop windows, and outdoor areas, competing for four awards. The initiative is part of the summer program 'Restate in città'; registrations open from May 11.
