The spring festival dedicated to flowers, children, and families in the historic center of Cento
Fiori e Bimbi is one of the most beloved spring events in Cento, a town in the province of Ferrara famous for being the birthplace of the painter Guercino. Every year, on a weekend in April, the historic center comes alive with colors, scents, and children's voices: Piazza del Guercino and Corso del Guercino become the stage for a grand outdoor festival designed for families, organized by the Tourist Association Pro Loco di Cento with the patronage of the Municipality.
The heart of the event is the flower and plant market exhibition that invades the square and part of the main street: nurseries, exhibitors, hobbyists, and producers offer blooms, decorations for gardens and terraces, typical products, and ideas to welcome the beautiful season. Strolling among the stalls is an opportunity to discover new greenery and breathe in the atmosphere of the Emilian spring.
Fiori e Bimbi owes its name to the starring role reserved for the little ones. Completely free inflatables are set up in Piazza del Guercino, open for most of the day, while throughout the weekend, creative workshops run by local associations take place, where children create small works of art using natural elements like leaves, flowers, and fruit.
The fun part is complemented by a rich supporting program: the Versilia Market and the Consortium Versilia Forte dei Marmi bring quality Made in Italy products along Corso del Guercino, while initiatives dedicated to sustainability — such as clothing and used book swap parties linked to Earth Day — enrich the offering with a message of sharing and environmental awareness.
Free and outdoors, the event attracts families from Cento and neighboring towns every year, confirming itself as one of the symbolic spring events in the Ferrara area. With flowers, inflatables, markets, and workshops, Fiori e Bimbi is the perfect way to experience the historic center of Cento and celebrate the arrival of the beautiful season in Emilia-Romagna.
For its tenth edition, Fiori e Bimbi animated the historic center of Cento on April 18 and 19, 2026, organized by the Pro Loco of Cento with the patronage of the Municipality and the organizational secretariats of Accento S.r.l. and the Consortium Forte dei Marmi.
In Piazza del Guercino and along the main street, there were exhibitions of flowers and plants, markets, and crafts, while the inflatables in the square were completely free, open from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM. On Saturday, April 18, in Piazza della Rocca, a swap party for clothing and used books was held, dedicated to sustainability and Earth Day. Sunday featured the Consortium Versilia Forte dei Marmi, with quality Made in Italy products along Corso del Guercino, and art workshops for children curated by Centosolidale, with the creation of colorful works made from leaves, flowers, and fruit.
A major new feature of this edition was the Luna Park, set up in Piazza della Rocca from Friday, April 17, to Sunday, April 26.
