Fish Festival – Between history, flavors and the Sicilian sea (San Giorgio)

Fourth edition — August 2, 2025

The fourth edition of the Fish Festival, titled "...Between history, flavors and the Sicilian sea," was held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in the Brigantino area of the village of San Giorgio in Gioiosa Marea (ME), right by the sea.

• 7:30 PM — "Sustainable Nutrition" seminar, moderated by Calogero Gambino, featuring Prof. Nino Calabria (gastronomy professor), Antonio Gallo (national vice-president of the Consumers' League), and fisherman Giacomo Napoli; opening remarks by Mayor Giusi La Galia.
• 8:30 PM — Dining area opens with pasta with squid sauce, mixed fried fish, and local wines.
• 9:30 PM — Live music with the band "I Senza Regole".
• Midnight — Midnight swim in the waters of San Giorgio.

The event, organized by Pro Loco San Giorgio with the support of the Municipality of Gioiosa Marea and the contribution of the Ministry of Agriculture, exceeded organizers' expectations in terms of participation and atmosphere. A second event, "A sea GIOIOSAmente rich in humble fish," was held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, on the San Giorgio promenade.
