Edition 2025 — Marene Carnival

In 2025, Marene, a small town in the Province of Cuneo, Piedmont, did not yet have a structured Carnival parade: the first official edition of the Marene Carnival would only be born the following year, in February 2026, on the initiative of the Youth Council. The Carnival period was still celebrated at a family level and among children in masks, while awaiting the town festival that would debut in 2026.

Towards the birth of the Marene Carnival

In 2025, the town of Marene, in the Province of Cuneo, did not yet have its own organized Carnival parade. Carnival was mainly experienced in schools and within families, with children in masks, while large float parades were held in the nearby towns of the Cuneo and Saluzzo areas.

It was precisely from this absence that the idea of the Marene Youth Council was born to provide the town with its own festival: the project would materialize the following year with the first edition of the Marene Carnival in February 2026. 2025 therefore represents the year that preceded and inspired the birth of this new Piedmontese tradition.
