Fira de Bagòin (Pig Festival)

The Fira de Bagòin, the traditional pig festival of Villa Verucchio (Municipality of Verucchio, Province of Rimini, Emilia-Romagna), was not held in 2025. The event, dedicated to cured pork products and Romagnolo folk traditions, had been paused since 2020 – the year of its last edition – following a long forced break that interrupted its continuity for six years.

During this period of pause, the festival remained alive in the memory of the Verucchio community, so much so that it was revived with great participation in February 2026. The return of the Fira de Bagòin in Piazza Europa, with live pork butchery, the pork rind competition, and food stands featuring pork, confirmed how deeply rooted this tradition is in the hearts of the citizens and the entire Valmarecchia territory.
