Edition 2025 — FIPILI Horror Festival

The 14th edition of the FIPILI Horror Festival took place in Livorno from October 8 to 12, 2025, featuring over 60 films, including short and feature films from 13 countries, and ten stories selected from more than 130 submissions. Guest of honor was the master Pupi Avati; the festival opened on Wednesday, October 8, with writer Carlo Lucarelli and the talk "Fear, between cinema and literature." Main venues were the Cinema Teatro 4 Mori and the Cinema La Gran Guardia, with traveling extensions in Pisa and Florence.

FIPILI Horror Festival 2025 — the 14th edition

From October 8 to 12, 2025, the FIPILI Horror Festival animated Livorno with its 14th edition, recording a significant increase in attendance compared to previous years. The program featured over 60 films, including short and feature films from 13 countries, with international, European, and Italian premieres that explored the contemporary horror landscape, from splatter comedy to body horror and dystopian science fiction.

The guest of honor for the edition was the master Pupi Avati, while writer Carlo Lucarelli inaugurated the festival on Wednesday, October 8, with the meeting "Fear, between cinema and literature." The jury, led by the Manetti Bros. and including Dalia Colli and Federico Frusciante, awarded the competition prizes. Among the novelties were the "Read or Die" literary section and the "On the Road" traveling screenings at the Cinema La Compagnia in Florence and the Cinema Arsenale in Pisa.

Programme

Wednesday, October 8 — opening night (Cinema Teatro 4 Mori)

  • 19:00 — Festival opening and program presentation, with short film screenings including "Nonna Rivoltella" and "Gonfiami" (national premiere) — free admission
  • 21:00 — Masterclass with writer Carlo Lucarelli, "Fear, between cinema and literature" — 5 euros (reduced 3.50)
  • 22:30 — Screening of the feature film "I Live Here Now" (national premiere, subtitled version) — 5 euros (reduced 3.50)

In the following days, screenings of competing short films, premiere feature films, meetings of the "Read or Die" literary section, and the final awards ceremony took place. Guest of honor of the edition was director Pupi Avati.
