Edition 2025 — Filetto Renaissance

The fourth edition of Filetto Renaissance took place from August 11th to 15th, 2025, in the village of Filetto, Villafranca in Lunigiana. The theme of the edition was the passage of Charles VIII of France through Lunigiana. Five days of street performances, medieval and folk music, flag-wavers, pageants, combat demonstrations, and daily conferences, with admission at 5 euros.

Filetto Renaissance 2025

The fourth edition of Filetto Renaissance was held from August 11th to 15th, 2025 in the walled village of Filetto, a hamlet of Villafranca in Lunigiana, organized by the Senza Tempo APS Association of Sarzana. The central theme was the passage of Charles VIII of France through Lunigiana during his campaign toward Naples.

The five days animated the squares and streets of the village with street performances, medieval, Celtic, and folk music, dance, theater, flag-wavers, Renaissance pageants, and combat demonstrations. Every evening at 6:30 PM in Via del Borghetto, conferences and presentations took place: highlights included "Lunigianesi in Rome" with Stefano Tozzi, "Abandoned Places of Lunigiana" with Martina Fai and Lorenzo Pecunia, and a meeting on the recovery of native grape varieties with Enzo Giorgi.

  • Tuesday, August 12 — Martina Fai and Lorenzo Pecunia, "Abandoned Places of Lunigiana"
  • Wednesday, August 13 — Enzo Giorgi, "Recovery of native Lunigiana grape varieties"
  • Thursday, August 14 — Stefano Calabretta, "Traveling in the Middle Ages: devotion, weapons, and economy in motion"
  • Friday, August 15 — Daniela Tresconi, presentation of two short novels set in the village

Activities throughout the village

Street performances, medieval, Celtic, and folk music, dance and theater, flag-wavers, Renaissance pageants, historical combat demonstrations, falconry, guided tours, an artisan market, and historical cuisine in the three main squares (Church Square, Well Square, and Via del Borghetto).
