Festival of the Madonna dei Pescatori 2025
On Sunday, August 3, 2025, Sant'Agata di Militello renewed its appointment with the Festival of the Madonna dei Pescatori, dedicated to Maria Santissima del Mare. In the late afternoon, the statue was carried in procession along Via Cosenz to the port, where Holy Mass was celebrated.
At sunset, the traditional sea procession took place: the statue, embarked on a fishing boat, crossed the gulf accompanied by the illuminated and decorated boats of the local fleet, while the Cosenz Seafront was lit up for the occasion. Many faithful and vacationers followed the blessing of the fishermen and the sea, confirming the strong bond between the Nebrodi town and its maritime tradition.
