Edition 2025 — Sant'Alfio Festival
The 2025 edition of the Sant'Alfio Festival followed the usual three-day schedule, from May 9th to 11th. On the night of May 9th, the nuri—barefoot and semi-naked devotees wearing red sashes—walked in silence through the streets of Lentini's center carrying candles and flowers, retracing the ancient path of the martyrs. On May 10th, the silver fercolo emerged from the churchyard welcomed by the crowd, crossing the historic center in a procession until the evening fireworks display. On May 11th, the solemn Pontifical Mass and the return of the fercolo to the Mother Church closed the celebrations. In 2025, the streets were once again filled with red drapes and stalls selling citron soda and nougat, in an atmosphere that combines faith and popular tradition in the province of Syracuse.
