Edition 2025 — Saint Calogero Festival
In 2025, the Festival of Saint Calogero the Hermit in Caltavuturo (Palermo) was celebrated on Sunday, July 6th, with the traditional Bread Festival on the previous Saturday. The faithful brought baskets of votive breads — shaped like heads, hands, feet, hearts, and eyes — to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, where they were blessed by the priest and distributed to those present.
On Sunday, after the morning Holy Masses, the afternoon was dedicated to the Children's Race along Via Riscossa and the procession of the statue of the Black Saint and his relic through the village streets, accompanied by a brass band. Among the side events, the 'A Sudura re-enactment brought the ancient peasant life of Caltavuturo back to the stage.
