The religious festival of the hamlet of Camere in July
The Festival of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is one of the most cherished events in the hamlet of Camere, part of Castelpetroso, a municipality in the province of Isernia known for the Sanctuary of the Addolorata. The festival is traditionally held on the third Sunday of July, in the height of summer.
The religious rites and the procession in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel are accompanied by the Gnocchi Festival, dedicated to one of the most beloved dishes of peasant tradition. A blend of devotion and conviviality that makes this occasion particularly dear to the inhabitants of the hamlet.
Visiting Camere means discovering an authentic corner of the Isernia province hinterland, a stone's throw from the Sanctuary of the Addolorata, in a hilly landscape rich in religious and popular traditions.
The Festival of Our Lady of Mount Carmel will return to the hamlet of Camere, Castelpetroso, on the third Sunday of July 2026. The event includes religious celebrations in honour of the Madonna, the procession, and the Gnocchi Festival, a moment of conviviality for the community.
