Edition 2025 — Madonna delle Preghiere Festival

On August 15th, 2025, Limina celebrated the Madonna delle Preghiere with a procession through the village streets as part of the mid-August triduum. The festival drew numerous Limina emigrants returning from abroad, in an edition marked by popular devotion and the recent restoration of the antique 19th-century wooden float.

The 2025 edition of the Festival of Maria SS. delle Preghiere took place on August 15th, 2025, in Limina (Messina), at the heart of the mid-August triduum dedicated to Saint Sebastian (August 14th), the Madonna delle Preghiere (August 15th), and Saint Philip of Agira (August 16th).

The day was characterized by the solemn procession of the co-patron saint's statue on the antique 1860 wooden float, depicting the Virgin with the Child in a gesture of supplication. The festival maintained its strong identity, drawing back emigrants from Milan, Frankfurt, New York, and Caracas, in a blend of popular faith, memory, and connection to the village's roots.
