Edition 2025 — Addolorata Festival

2025 was a special Marian year for Pignataro Interamna: the community celebrated the centenary of the perpetual coronation decree of the statue of Maria SS. Addolorata, granted by the Chapter of St. Peter on August 9, 1925. Alongside the patronal festival in September, tributes, conferences, and moments of historical reflection took place, including the meeting on September 7 in the Chapel of the Seven Sorrows dedicated to the history of indulgences.

2025 Edition: The Centenary of the Coronation

The 2025 edition of the Festival of Maria SS. Addolorata was part of the 1925-2025 centenary celebratory program, dedicated to the capitular decree of perpetual coronation of the venerated statue. As early as April 26, a tribute to the Blessed Virgin Mary Addolorata was held in the Church of the SS. Salvatore; on September 7, the Chapel of the Seven Sorrows hosted a conference on the memory of indulgences, followed by further commemorative events in the middle of the month.

The actual patronal festival took place according to tradition on the third Sunday of September, with the procession of the statue through the streets of the town of Pignataro Interamna and the participation of the Confraternity Pia Società Vergine SS. Addolorata, guardian of the devotion since 1766.
