Edition 2025 — Festival of the Madonna di Porto Salvo
The 2025 edition of the Festival of Maria Santissima di Porto Salvo confirmed the deep devotion of Lampedusa and Linosa to their patron saint, the protector of fishermen. The statue, adorned with flowers and the characteristic turquoise cloak, was carried in procession along the town's streets and to the harbor to bless the boats and the work of the fishermen.
As per tradition, the festivities kicked off on the first Sunday of September with the procession from the sanctuary to the Mother Church, culminating on September 22nd with solemn mass. The evenings alternated between illuminations, food stalls, music, games in the square, a fish festival, brass band concerts, and spectacular fireworks, in a celebration that unites the island's faith, history, and maritime identity.
