Edition 2025 — Festival au Désert
The 2025 edition of the Festival au Désert Florence took place from July 23 to 25 at Parco delle Cascine, between the PARC and Ultravox spaces on the Prato della Tinaia. A free-admission edition that gave great prominence to female creativity, featuring the group Almar'à, The Zawose Queens from Tanzania, and Afghan singer and activist Elaha Soroor with Kefaya.
The 2025 edition of the Festival au Désert Florence, held from July 23 to 25 at Parco delle Cascine, confirmed the festival's vocation for bringing different cultures together through music, with a particular focus on female voices and nomadic creativity.
2025 Program
- Wednesday, July 23 — PARC: "Almar'à – the Orchestra of Arab and Mediterranean Women," with workshops, auditions, and an open lab.
- Thursday, July 24 — Ultravox (from 9:00 PM): Sandro Joyeux (France/Italy) solo and the Doni Doni project (Italy-Mali).
- Friday, July 25 — Ultravox (from 9:00 PM): The Zawose Queens (Tanzania), Lolo (Italy-Mali-Gambia ensemble), and Kefaya & Elaha Soroor (Afghanistan/UK).
All events of the 2025 edition were free of charge, set in the usual surroundings of Parco delle Cascine in Florence.
