The centuries-old fair of Serravalle in honour of Saint Augusta, between faith, tradition, and the famous "foghi"
The Festeggiamenti di Santa Augusta are the most beloved popular festival in Vittorio Veneto, in the province of Treviso, and take place in the historic village of Serravalle. The event celebrates Saint Augusta, patron saint of the village and second patron saint of the diocese of Vittorio Veneto, whose sanctuary overlooks the town from the top of the hill. It is a "centuries-old fair" that blends religious devotion, popular tradition, and entertainment.
The programme, spread over about six days in mid-August, offers a funfair, a children's market, evening street food, shows, concerts in the various squares of the village, book presentations at the Museo del Cenedese, and extraordinary evening openings of Palazzo Todesco. There are also liturgical celebrations in honour of the saint and guided tours on the legend of Saint Augusta.
The heart of the festival is the evening of August 21st, with the traditional Parata di Santa Augusta, the Anguria Party in Piazza Flaminio โ featuring watermelon, sangria, cocktails, and music โ and above all the famous "foghi", the fireworks display (usually at midnight, postponed to the 22nd in case of bad weather) that lights up the sky of Serravalle and attracts over 30,000 spectators. For the evening, the village becomes a pedestrian zone.
The 2026 edition of the centuries-old Santa Augusta fair returns to liven up Serravalle di Vittorio Veneto from August 17th to 22nd. Six days of festivities with a funfair, children's market, evening street food, concerts in the village squares, book presentations, and extraordinary evening openings of Palazzo Todesco and the Museo del Cenedese. The evening of August 21st remains the most anticipated moment, with the traditional Parata di Santa Augusta, the Anguria Party in Piazza Flaminio, and the "foghi", the fireworks display that attracts over 30,000 spectators to Serravalle every year. For the 2026 edition, the Municipality has allocated a contribution of 30,000 euros.
Vittorio Veneto can be reached by car from the A27 motorway and by train. Serravalle is the historic village north of the city; during the festival, and especially on the evening of the fireworks, pedestrian zones and traffic changes are planned.
The festival, the Parade, and the fireworks are free to enter. Some activities (such as the AquaLab guided tour on the legend of Saint Augusta) require booking.
