FestambienteSud

The 21st edition of FestambienteSud, the first chapter of the "Out of Africa" triennium, took place from July 18th to August 1st, 2025, in the villages of the Gargano with Africa as the great protagonist: artists from Nigeria, Tanzania, Mali, Uganda, and Benin alongside guests from France, Argentina, Cuba, Israel, and Italy. In Vico del Gargano, the historic center hosted the quality food market and numerous events blending art, poetry, and music.

The most anticipated moment was the concert on July 29th at the Convento dei Cappuccini featuring Paolo Fresu and Omar Sosa, the meeting between the Sardinian jazz trumpeter and the Cuban pianist, born from the Food project, which explores through music the theme of food as an aesthetic, ethical, and sensory experience, and as a reflection on the planet's sustainability. The same day had seen, in the morning, the performance of the Zawose Queens in the evocative setting of the Foresta Umbra.
