Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Patron Saint of Fombio

Every year, on July 16th, the Municipality of Fombio, in the province of Lodi, celebrates its patronal festival in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (or Madonna del Carmine). The date is not coincidental: July 16th is the day the Church commemorates the solemn celebration of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, linked according to tradition to the apparition in 1251 to Saint Simon Stock and the gift of the scapular.

The procession through the town's streets
