Edition 2025 — San Gaetano - Calvera
In 2025, Calvera also celebrated its patron saint San Gaetano da Thiene on August 7th, with Holy Mass, the procession, and the traditional 'ballo delle gregne', structures covered in wheat ears made to dance before the saint by the village women.
The 2025 Edition
In August 2025, the community of Calvera renewed its devotion to the patron saint San Gaetano da Thiene on the traditional date of August 7th. The festival featured, as every year, religious celebrations, the procession with the statue of the saint, and the characteristic 'ballo delle gregne', an expression of ancient peasant spirituality where the sacred and profane meet in the heart of the Lucanian Pollino.
