Edition 2025 — Festa dell'Assunta a Candide

In 2025, Candide also celebrated its patron saint Maria SS. Assunta on August 15th, with a solemn Mass in the parish church and a procession in Piazza Zambelli. The Ferragosto solemnity brought together the community of Comelico Superiore and the numerous summer visitors of the upper Val Comelico.

The 2025 edition of the Festa patronale dell'Assunta (Patronal Festival of the Assumption) took place as tradition dictates on August 15th in Candide, the main village of Comelico Superiore. The liturgical celebrations in the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta and the procession through Piazza Zambelli marked the Ferragosto day, the central moment of devotion in Comelico. The festival confirmed the strong bond between the Ladin community of the valley and its patron saint, during the peak tourist season in the Belluno Dolomites.

Programme

Religious celebrations: Solemn Mass in the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta and patronal procession in Piazza Zambelli, according to the tradition of the Assumption festival.
