The patron saints of Bubbiano

The Festa Patronale dei Santi Eugenio, Fermo, Luciano e Saveriano is the festival of Bubbiano, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Milan located on the left bank of the Ticino, between the Naviglio Pavese and the Naviglio di Bereguardo. It is celebrated on the last Sunday of August and is dedicated to the four martyr saints who are patrons of the village.

A rural community

Bubbiano, documented since 1160 when it was linked to the Abbey of Morimondo, has developed an autonomous agricultural tradition of a rural community over the centuries. The parish church is dedicated to Sant'Ambrogio and shows signs of the numerous renovations that have taken place over time. It is around this church and its patron saints that the village festival revolves.

The end-of-summer festival

Falling on the last Sunday of August, the patronal festival marks the end of summer for Bubbiano and the community's return to gathering. The religious celebrations in honour of the four martyr saints are accompanied by the civil and convivial moments of tradition. For those passing through the Ticino Park and the South Milan countryside, it is an opportunity to discover the village dimension of Bubbiano.
