The festival of the patron saint of Bollate, featuring a sacred concert and the San Martino d'Oro Award
San Martino is the patron saint of Bollate, a city in the Metropolitan City of Milan, and his feast day is on November 11th. It is one of the most cherished events by the community, where the religious dimension merges with the cultural and civil aspects.
Among the most anticipated moments is the San Martino concert, held on the evening of November 11th in the parish church of San Martino. Each year, the musical program features high-quality performances: in 2025, for example, it was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the first performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, with the duo Mauro Loguercio (violin) and Emanuela Piemonti (piano) in the transcription by Hans Sitt.
Alongside the religious celebrations, the festival includes the civil ceremony at the Teatro LaBolla, during which the San Martino d'Oro Award is presented. This award recognises individuals, associations, and organisations that have contributed to the growth and well-being of the Bollate community. It is the moment when the city publicly acknowledges the commitment of its citizens.
The 2026 Festa di San Martino celebrates the patron saint of Bollate on November 11th, following the traditional program that the community revives each year.
The solemn concelebration and the evening concert in the parish church of San Martino are planned, with a high-quality musical program to be announced in the autumn. The civil ceremony at the Teatro LaBolla with the presentation of the San Martino d'Oro Award to citizens, associations, and organisations that have distinguished themselves for the community will also take place.
The detailed 2026 program will be announced by the parish and the Municipality in the autumn. Based on the traditional structure, the following are planned:
November 11th, San Martino's Day. Evening concert in the parish church; San Martino d'Oro Award ceremony at the Teatro LaBolla in the following days.
Parish Church of San Martino and Teatro LaBolla (Piazza Aldo Moro 1), Bollate (MI).
Religious celebrations and the concert are generally free admission.
Bollate is connected to Milan by the suburban railway line S1 and by car via the A52 Tangenziale Nord and the SS233 Varesina.
