Festa della Beata Vergine Assunta di Morterone

The 2025 edition of Morterone's patronal feast renewed the age-old ritual. On the evening of August 14th, bonfires lit up the hamlets, while on Ferragosto day, the community gathered in the church of the Assumption for the solemn mass, followed by the procession with the 17th-century statue of the Madonna along the village streets, amidst adorned chapels and Marian chants. A day that, as every year, drew residents, holidaymakers, and natives of Morterone to one of Valsassina's most evocative corners.
