The patronal festival of the Plateau

The Festa dell'Assunta is the patronal festival of Foza, a municipality on the Asiago Plateau Seven Municipalities in the province of Vicenza, dedicated to Mary Most Holy Assumed into Heaven, the patroness of the parish church. The celebrations focus around August 15th, the day of the Assumption, and liven up the town centre with religious and civil ceremonies.

Faith, vow, and tradition

The heart of the festival is the solemn mass in the parish church, accompanied by moments of devotion that have been part of the life of the Foza community for generations. The festival is linked to an ancient vow to the Holy Assumption, which is renewed every five years with the grand quinquennali (five-yearly celebrations), particularly solemn and well-attended editions that involve the entire town in the renewal of the spiritual commitment to the patroness.

Shows and conviviality

Alongside the religious dimension, the festival offers shows, live music, aperitifs with the band, and entertainment for all ages, including water, light, and colour shows. It is an opportunity to experience summer on the Plateau and discover Foza, a village immersed in nature among meadows, pastures, and woods, in a context of strong historical and cultural identity linked to the Cimbrian community of the Seven Municipalities.
