The 20th Edition

The 2025 edition of the Festa de U Cannuzzutu, the twentieth in its history, took place on August 8, 2025, in San Cassiano, in the province of Lecce. For one evening, the village center became a large open-air stage, featuring the characteristic theatrical parade led by the U Cannuzzutu mask, along with performers, folk music, dances, and comedy sketches.

As per tradition, there was a strong focus on Salento gastronomy: the stalls served pittule, grilled meats, and rustic sandwiches, with a classic menu accompanied by a green vegetarian menu (including pasta with turnip tops and eggplant parmigiana). The event, organized by the Pro Loco of San Cassiano, confirmed its role as a staple of the Salento summer, attracting residents and visitors with its authenticity and lighthearted spirit.
