Edition 2025 — Fedelissima Civitas Trophy

The 4th edition of the Fedelissima Civitas Trophy Flag-Wavers and Musicians Festival took place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Castellaneta Open-Air Theatre. Four historical groups from Southern Italy competed with flags, drums, and clarions to win the coveted trophy, in an evening of historical re-enactment organized by the Pro Loco "Domenica Terrusi" with the support of the Municipality of Castellaneta.

The fourth edition of the Fedelissima Civitas Trophy took place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Castellaneta Open-Air Theatre. The evening featured the proven format: a presentation parade of groups in historical costumes starting from the Cathedral, followed by competitive performances in the amphitheatre before a panel of experts.

Four Flag-Wavers and Musicians Groups from various Southern regions vied for the trophy, showcasing spectacular flag tosses, team choreography, and musical accompaniment by drums and clarions. The event was organized by the Pro Loco Castellaneta "Domenica Terrusi" in collaboration with Pienne Produzione Eventi and supported by the Municipality of Castellaneta.

Programme

Saturday, August 2, 2025 — Open-Air Theatre of Castellaneta

  • Presentation parade of groups in historical costumes departing from the Cathedral
  • Competitive performances in the amphitheatre on Via Enrico Mastrobuono (from approximately 8:30 PM), with an expert jury and the awarding of the Fedelissima Civitas Trophy

Highlights

The challenge between four of the most highly regarded flag-waving groups in Southern Italy, with the defending champion Brancaleone from Barletta called to defend the title, featuring flag tosses, costumed choreography, and the rhythm of drums and clarions.
