Edition 2025 — Feasts of Saint Onuphrius and Saint Anthony

In 2025, Serramonacesca once again renewed its patronal festival dedicated to Saint Onuphrius and Saint Anthony of Padua. From the Fires of Saint Onuphrius lit on the evening of June 11th to the pilgrimage to the hermitage on the 12th, and the distribution of bread and celebrations for Saint Anthony on the 13th, the Majella village experienced three days of devotion, tradition, and community in the heart of the Abruzzo mountains.

The 2025 edition of the Feasts of Saint Onuphrius and Saint Anthony of Padua in Serramonacesca upheld the rituals passed down for generations. On the evening of June 11th, the inhabitants lit the Fires of Saint Onuphrius on the cliff near the hermitage; on June 12th, the faithful reached the Hermitage of Saint Onuphrius in the Majella National Park on a pilgrimage for solemn mass and the procession.

In the afternoon, the blessing and distribution of bread in honor of Saint Anthony took place, carried in a procession from house to house to the sound of the band, while on June 13th, the celebrations paid homage to the saint of Padua, protector of field labor.
