Edition 2025 — Madonna della Provvidenza Feast

In 2025, Montalbano Elicona once again celebrated its patron saint on August 24th with the Feast of the Madonna della Provvidenza. The day featured the traditional opening mortar fire, solemn masses for pilgrims arriving from neighboring towns, and the evocative afternoon procession of the wooden statue carried on the shoulders of the 'smanicati' through the streets of the medieval village, concluding in the evening with the illumination of the historic center and fireworks.

The 2025 edition of the Feast of the Madonna della Provvidenza took place on August 24th in Montalbano Elicona (ME), confirming a tradition that has been renewed uninterruptedly since 1675.

The festival featured the usual rituals: the opening with mortar fire, liturgical celebrations in the sanctuary of the Church of San Domenico, and the solemn procession of the venerated image of the Madonna and Child, accompanied by the clergy, confraternities, and the marching band. The streets of the historic center, animated by stalls and the faithful, lit up at nightfall, and fireworks closed the festive day in the Nebrodi village.
