Feast of the Madonna dell'Alto

The 2025 edition of the Feast of the Madonna dell'Alto was celebrated as per tradition on August 14th and 15th at the sanctuary on the summit of Monte Alto, in Petralia Sottana (PA), in the heart of the Madonie Park.

The Quindicina enlivened the first half of August with moments of prayer and the continuous pilgrimage toward the summit. On August 14th, the evocative night procession with torches accompanied the faithful along the path. August 15th, the solemn day, featured the procession of the statue around the sanctuary with the four stops to bless the cardinal points, the countryside, and the villages of the Madonie, according to the ancient privilege that reserves to the locals of Petralia alone the honor of carrying the sacred image on their shoulders. The day concluded with the solemn holy mass and the country feast with the communal lunch.
