Edition 2025 — Feast of the Immaculate

The 2025 edition of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception in Salemi took place according to tradition, with the novena from November 29th and the culmination on December 8th. The festival was preceded by the Feast of Saint Nicholas on December 6th. On December 8th, after the morning masses and the solemn Eucharistic celebration, the statue of the Madonna was carried in procession through the streets of the historic center, amidst prayers, hymns, and the devotion of the Salemi faithful.

The 2025 edition

The 2025 Feast of the Immaculate Conception in Salemi renewed the town's most deeply felt devotional tradition. The celebrations were preceded by the novena, which began on November 29th, with the Holy Rosary, the Stellario, and Holy Mass every afternoon in the Mother Church.

On December 8th, the Solemnity of the Immaculate, the day opened at dawn with the morning wake-up call and bell ringing, followed by morning masses and the solemn Eucharistic celebration with the lighting of the votive lamp and the presentation of the silver key to the Madonna. In the afternoon, presided over by the Bishop of Mazara del Vallo, Holy Mass preceded the solemn procession with the statue through the streets of the historic center. The festival, paired with that of Saint Nicholas of Bari on December 6th, confirmed Salemi as one of the most devoted centers to the Immaculate in the entire Diocese of Mazara del Vallo.
