Edition 2025 — Immaculate Conception of Palermo
2025 Edition
The 2025 Feast of the Immaculate Conception in Palermo renewed the city's ancient bond with its primary patron saint. Following the inaugural ceremony on November 29th, the eve of December 7th featured a brass band performance in Piazza Kalsa, solemn Vespers with the entrustment of the city, the oath, and the Mayor's offering of shields, concluding with the Midnight Mass at the Sanctuary of Santa Teresa alla Kalsa.
On December 8th, the day opened with the pilgrimage of the confraternities from the Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi and the Alborata, continuing with the solemn Pontifical Mass in the Cathedral presided over by Archbishop Monsignor Corrado Lorefice. In the afternoon, the traditional procession with the silver statue reached Piazza San Domenico, where the Fire Brigade paid floral tribute at the foot of the monument to the Immaculate, followed by the re-enactment of the 1624 civic vow.
