Feast of the Immaculate Conception

The 2025 Feast of the Immaculate in Canicattì was held from November 29th to December 8th, organized by the San Francesco Parish - Sanctuary of the Immaculate together with the Festival Committee. The chosen theme, "Mary, gift of hope and consolation," guided a rich program of spiritual and community moments.

The novena featured the daily Holy Rosary, Salve Regina, and Holy Masses, with thematic days dedicated to children and life, the poor, service and volunteering, the sick, the youth, and priests. On December 8th, the day of the solemnity, the gathering in Piazza Roma at 10:00 AM preceded the solemn Holy Mass at 11:30 AM with civil and military authorities, followed by the city procession and the closing Mass in the late afternoon. The day concluded with fireworks and musical entertainment, in keeping with the ancient tradition of 'nciminati muffuletti.
