Feast of the Blessed Virgin Assumption of Morterone

The 2025 edition of Morterone's patronal feast renewed the usual rites. On the evening of August 14th, bonfires lit up the hamlets, while on Ferragosto day, the community gathered in the Church of the Assumption for the solemn Mass, followed by the procession with the 17th-century statue of the Madonna through the village streets, amidst decorated chapels and Marian chants. A day that, as every year, drew residents, holidaymakers, and former Morteronesi to one of Valsassina's most picturesque corners.
