Feast of the Assumption of Mary and Saint Roch

The 2025 edition of the Feast of the Assumption of Mary and Saint Roch was held on August 15th and 16th, 2025, in Frigento, in the province of Avellino, as a central event of the Estate Frigentina 2025 promoted by the Municipality together with the Pro Loco Frigentina.

On August 15th, the day of the Assumption, the pulling of the wheat wagons took place: the wagons covered in woven wheat were gathered near the Franciscan convent and dragged to the village center, where they remained on display in front of the Church of Purgatorio. The evening continued in Piazza Municipio with a concert by Le Nuvole, a tribute to Fabrizio De André.

On August 16th, at 11:00 AM, the solemn procession in honor of Saint Roch moved through the village with the parade of the mezzetti, the wooden containers filled with grain offered by devotees; the day concluded with music in Piazza Municipio. All events were free to attend.
